If you’re new to my channel, my name is Paul Leon. I’m a corporate sales trainer and sales enablement leader with over 10 years of experience helping professionals improve communication, close deals, and strengthen team culture to lower turnover. I’ve trained over 3,000 sales representatives while maintaining a 4.5/5 assessment score, and am currently pursuing an MBA to refine my expertise and leadership skills.
Here’s how I got here:
19 yrs old:
Dropped out of college after an English teacher said, “You’re not good enough.” Letting her words dictate my potential delayed my success, but it fueled a fire I couldn’t ignore. Took a sales job going door-to-door, making over 200 calls weekly.
21 yrs old:
Invested $10,000 I didn’t have into a sales mentor who never gave me handouts—but set me on the right path.
Joined an award-winning company, worked 80-hour weeks, and earned top 10% sales recognition.
28 yrs old:
Decided to pursue corporate training. I met my wife, who told me, “You’re smart enough to go back to college.” Balanced side hustles, stand-up comedy, and school while pursuing a degree in Organizational Behavior and Leadership—which is just a fancy way of saying, “I studied how to talk to people and get stuff done.”
33 yrs old:
Graduated college, became a sales manager, and helped my team achieve explosive results—only to be laid off due to the pandemic. This moment was humbling but also a positive turning point.
34 yrs old:
After 400+ rejections, I finally landed a corporate sales trainer role. Trained over 1,000 participants annually, maintaining a 4.5/5 assessment score, and developed impactful training programs.
37 yrs old:
Faced one of the most challenging professional experiences of my career, which pushed me to seek therapy and dedicate 40+ sessions to better understand myself. This journey taught me the power of self-awareness, healthy boundaries, and perseverance.
Today:
I am a highly skilled corporate trainer and sales enablement leader, helping organizations drive measurable results while pursuing my MBA to take my journey to the next level.
3 Key Lessons I Learned The Hard Way:
1) Approval matters—but only from those who want to see you win. Letting someone else dictate your self-worth is a waste of time.
2) Specializing your skills makes you valuable to organizations willing to invest in the results you deliver.
3) Action and association accelerate growth. Reading and listening improve your mindset, but associating with the right people and taking action is how you win the fastest.
